On the occasion of the indictment against Ahmed Sejdic, Ferid Buljubašić and 11 other persons, members of the Army of the RBiH, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the president of the DF, Zeljko Komšić, spoke out.
"It is obvious that this is another designed attempt to change the character of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the production of statistical elements, through which efforts are made to equate victims with war criminals as much as possible," Komšić said.
As he said, in this particular case it is clear that the indictment against 13 persons wants to ensure the longest possible court proceedings, which in that longer period of time would be used as a political tool suitable for those political actors who are making significant efforts to deny genocide and war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"Of particular concern is the placing of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Milanko Kajganić, chief prosecutor, in the political function of those in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as those outside it, to try to artificially portray a different character of the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In order for Chief Prosecutor Kajganić to protect the integrity and impartiality of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it would be very useful to answer questions why no indictments have been filed against the direct perpetrators of the Srebrenica genocide, because the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina must prosecute all direct perpetrators, participants in mass liquidations, expulsion of local population and the organization of primary, secondary and tertiary mass graves in order to cover up the commission of the war crime of genocide", it is stated.
Likewise, Komšić emphasizes, it would be very good if chief prosecutor Kajganić, in order to protect his own integrity and impartiality, start issuing indictments against those persons who carried out shelling of citizens of Sarajevo who stood in line for water or in line for bread, then shelling children on playgrounds.
"Regardless of the fact that prosecutor Kajganić is the preference of a part of the international community, he should finally start doing his prosecutorial job. Otherwise, they will bear the burden of protecting the perpetrators of all these most horrific crimes, through manipulative lyre of unsustainable indictments, and turn a part of the international community into their accomplice," Komšić said.
