The Bosniak Caucus in the Council of Peoples of Republika Srpska will initiate a mechanism for the protection of vital national interest, i.e., it will veto the Law on Non-Application of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, adopted by the RS National Assembly.
This was confirmed for federal television by the president of the Bosniak People's Club, Alija Tabaković. Tabaković added that he will hold a session of the Club next week, and veto the controversial law. Otherwise, the procedure is such that if the Caucus of one of the constituent peoples initiates a mechanism for the protection of vital national interest, then these laws or decisions go to the harmonization of the Joint Commission of the Council of Peoples and the National Assembly. If there is no agreement, then the final decision on the controversial laws is made by the RS Constitutional Court. If they are not satisfied with the Court's decision, the next instance is the Constitutional Court of BiH.
